Hi, everyone! I'm just dropping a quick note on this brilliant system to introduce myself, since I have a moment to myself and I've found a computer to play around on. My name is Xi'an Coy Manh, and I'm your new librarian, starting as of now. I've been browsing these journals a bit, and I see you've all had a very eventful summer -- Cecilia was kind enough to explain some things to me (I think she was actually trying to shock me, but I'm pretty hard to shock ;).

Please call me Shan; being called Miss anything gives me hives. I understand things here have been a bit hectic lately, so I am sorry for arriving unexpectedly, but I wanted to see the state of the library before your classes started, and become aquainted with this lovely house so I don't get too lost when things get busy. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you; I'll probably be wandering around blissfully for the next few days, so feel free to say hi if you want to. (I'll also be taking book requests once I've figured out what we already have.)

You'll probably be seeing me around, and there are two other faces you'll likely turn up -- Leong and Nga are twins, nine, and looking for something to do after spending a few days in the van with me. (If they break anything, let me know.) They're good kids, although slightly rambunctious, and very friendly.

(Angelo, thank you so much for your help this afternoon. I don't know how I managed to accumulate that much stuff over the years, but you were much appreciated -- as was the rundown on the mansion. If I can make it up to you, let me know.)

That is a lot of steel. Mine was just a hair over two feet, but it was simply a sword. Which reminds me, I miss that sword. I should replace it someday.

I wonder if you could get some sort of locker that might double as a display case?

hmmm...maybe. I would need something practical and able to hold 5 blades... maybe Nathan would have some ideas.

next hobby is going to be SMALL. like stamps.

They make locking display and storage cabinets for rifles, yes? I would think that the same might be true for swords.

I think they do, never had much use for guns. but I'm sure they have to, to keep them away from kids.

Well, it stands to reason that they might make them for swords too. The stores display them that way, yes?

Like Angie said, there are alternatives.

In fact, we could get you something similar to what I have in my office, but not as high tech. There are some options: call various martial arts places and see what they suggest. Modify a gun display case. Something along those lines.

If you want to see what I have in my office, feel free to come down and I'll show you.

No, it's actually the metallic gun closet I have in my office, that holds my hunting rifles.

Narcolepsy and guns. Yeah, doc, that's a -great- combination. Match made in heaven.

Cain, she's not narcoleptic. Neither am I. There have got to be any number of better things you can expend good grousing-energy on. Go find them.

Really, Nate. He's at loose ends with the renovations done. He's got to put his mind to something challenging.
