A Quick Introduction

Hi, everyone! I'm just dropping a quick note on this brilliant system to introduce myself, since I have a moment to myself and I've found a computer to play around on. My name is Xi'an Coy Manh, and I'm your new librarian, starting as of now. I've been browsing these journals a bit, and I see you've all had a very eventful summer -- Cecilia was kind enough to explain some things to me (I think she was actually trying to shock me, but I'm pretty hard to shock ;).

Please call me Shan; being called Miss anything gives me hives. I understand things here have been a bit hectic lately, so I am sorry for arriving unexpectedly, but I wanted to see the state of the library before your classes started, and become aquainted with this lovely house so I don't get too lost when things get busy. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you; I'll probably be wandering around blissfully for the next few days, so feel free to say hi if you want to. (I'll also be taking book requests once I've figured out what we already have.)

You'll probably be seeing me around, and there are two other faces you'll likely turn up -- Leong and Nga are twins, nine, and looking for something to do after spending a few days in the van with me. (If they break anything, let me know.) They're good kids, although slightly rambunctious, and very friendly.

(Angelo, thank you so much for your help this afternoon. I don't know how I managed to accumulate that much stuff over the years, but you were much appreciated -- as was the rundown on the mansion. If I can make it up to you, let me know.)

I really should pay attention to the staff updates. Welcome to Xavier's, Shan. The children should beware the cat; she's not that comfortable around the very short. Neither am I, for that matter, but I don't bite. (Not children, anyway.) Besides, I'm adjusting. Someone needs to compliment me on this but no one's gotten around to it.

There should be an unreasonably large book order on its way in to the library any time now. Don't worry about sorting it yourself, I'll come see that it's distributed. Regardless of appearances, I have actually been preparing for classes. All the lying about in the sun, galivanting around the city, and rock climbing are merely part of a ruse to lull the unwary.

I'll be seeing you when those books get in, if not sooner.

Thank you very much! :) Hopefully the kids will have the good sense to stay away from your cat. I'll tell them to, but why would they listen to me when they could learn the same lesson painfully by themselves? (Is that her in the picture? If so, she's gorgeous.)

I'll be the first to extend my compliments on adjusting, then -- I know how hard it is to adjust to suddenly having smaller people underfoot.

I consider myself duly warned about the book order; I've been anticipating a rush before classes resume (how has this school gone for so long without a librarian?), so I shouldn't have a problem getting them in promptly.
