A Quick Introduction

Hi, everyone! I'm just dropping a quick note on this brilliant system to introduce myself, since I have a moment to myself and I've found a computer to play around on. My name is Xi'an Coy Manh, and I'm your new librarian, starting as of now. I've been browsing these journals a bit, and I see you've all had a very eventful summer -- Cecilia was kind enough to explain some things to me (I think she was actually trying to shock me, but I'm pretty hard to shock ;).
Please call me Shan; being called Miss anything gives me hives. I understand things here have been a bit hectic lately, so I am sorry for arriving unexpectedly, but I wanted to see the state of the library before your classes started, and become aquainted with this lovely house so I don't get too lost when things get busy. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you; I'll probably be wandering around blissfully for the next few days, so feel free to say hi if you want to. (I'll also be taking book requests once I've figured out what we already have.)
You'll probably be seeing me around, and there are two other faces you'll likely turn up -- Leong and Nga are twins, nine, and looking for something to do after spending a few days in the van with me. (If they break anything, let me know.) They're good kids, although slightly rambunctious, and very friendly.
(Angelo, thank you so much for your help this afternoon. I don't know how I managed to accumulate that much stuff over the years, but you were much appreciated -- as was the rundown on the mansion. If I can make it up to you, let me know.)

Your timing
Date: 2004-08-26 06:54 pm (UTC)I think that Shiro's little sister needs a roommate if your little sister wants one? Leyu might be in our suite, mine and Amanda's and Rahne's.

Date: 2004-08-26 06:57 pm (UTC)Once you get settled in, I may descend upon you with large amounts of book requests. I'm hoping to teach a class this fall that requires a number of titles that aren't in the library...

Date: 2004-08-26 07:01 pm (UTC)I think we might have some real ninjas and ninjas-in-training around here too ;)
a word of warning - I (among others) have live steel. I keep mine sheathed and in a rather heavy duffel under one end of my bed, but I would hate for something to happen. I can see about moving them though, if needed.

Date: 2004-08-26 07:10 pm (UTC)For the live steel -- if it's somewhere you think the kids could easily find it, do please put it somewhere else. If not, I don't think it's something to worry about. They're nosy, but not enough that they'll tear anyone's room apart. (Hopefully they'll stay out of rooms, but that might be asking a lot. The privacy lecture is worn.)

I mean, the katana alone is over 3ft!!

Date: 2004-08-26 07:21 pm (UTC)My little sister would be thrilled to be Leyu's roommate, if there's room for her. :) I'll send her down to meet you guys if you want?

Date: 2004-08-26 07:23 pm (UTC)I wonder if you could get some sort of locker that might double as a display case?
Re: Your timing
Date: 2004-08-26 07:24 pm (UTC)If she comes back to you reporting that there is a big lizard roaming around, that is Amanda's iguana, Frank. If she comes back -with- mice, they are mine.
Re: ...
